GUTE FINANCIAL SERVICES
PETE GUTEKUNST
Peter J. Gutekunst, CFP®, CLU®, CRPS® has been educating and helping clients implement sound financial strategies since 1994. In nearly 30 years with hundreds of clients, Pete has guided and traveled as partner in the natural progression of life with a regular income through life after the paycheck ends. The goals, challenges and opportunities shift along the way and not every couple or person has the same experiences. However, there are core values and processes that can be applied to most Americans in their financial journeys. Pete’s special talent is to help organize and facilitate the conversations around what matters most in life in order to apply sound financial decision-making. Having shared that knowledge through blogs, newspaper columns, webinars and live presentations, Pete published his first book in 2021.
Following a process Pete designed called My Financial Bridge, he focuses on evaluating and reviewing the “whole financial picture.” By avoiding the common financial industry “rules of thumb” and by defining and aligning to individual purpose, clients are assisted in clearly identifying goals to implement well-defined plans. He helps execute a course of action designed to keep those near and in retirement on a path of making well-informed decisions while avoiding costly emotional mistakes.
With a thorough background and knowledge in retirement account regulations, Social Security claiming strategies, as well as longevity planning, Pete educates and assists in the accumulation and income distribution phases of retirement assets, while helping to build strategies to protect and pass on a legacy.
Pete is a combat decorated Marine Corps veteran of Operation Desert Storm and continues his support of military service and veteran affairs through numerous Philadelphia Area events. Most notably, Pete has co-chaired the Union League of Philadelphia Veteran Fellowship Program since its inception. Pete also serves on the Board and as chair for the Advancement Committee of Liberty Lutheran Services where he has volunteered at Liberty affiliate Artman Lutheran Home since his youth. A firm advocate for the values of the United States Constitution and the free enterprise system, Pete is an active supporter of the Union League Legacy Foundation.
Pete and his wife Cherie reside in Suburban Philadelphia where they raised three great children Ally, Zach and Jake. Having spent only one year of marriage without a Labrador Retriever by their sides, they enjoy the Jersey Shore and walks with their Chocolate Lab Chief.
